next Monday, May 11, the Chamber of Deputies, in the Hall of Columns in Palazzo Marini, there will be a Conference on "Governance and Development in the Arab Maghreb: the challenges of security, immigration and the fight against drug trafficking and arms."
The Conference, organized within the activities planned by the International Democratic Women's Centre for the year 2009, provides, among others, after an introduction by the President Stamen Anna Maria Cervone, interventions, Pier Ferdinando Casini, IDC's President, Massimo D'Alema, President of the Italian Foundation Europe, if Mohammed Nabil Benabdallah, Morocco's ambassador in Italy.
follow three debates on "Governance in the Maghreb" by MPs Libe and Frank Mauro Adragna, "Migration and Development", with the Prefect Mario Morcone, MEP Paul Bortolozzi and Mohammed Aziz, Director of the Mediterranean, "Security and the fight against terrorism, drug trafficking and weapons" with the Senators Gianpiero D'Alia, Stefano De Lillo, Carlo De Stefano, Director of the Central Office.
objective of the conference is to begin a demanding confrontation on an issue whose strong geostrategic challenges call into question not only the countries of the Maghreb, but also the countries of southern Europe and Italy in particular, directly concerned with the impact of all matters affecting the present and the future of this region of the Arab world and Africa.
